About the NCCCC

Mission Statement

The North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization whose mission is to represent and to lead the business community by providing advocacy, services and business development opportunities that increase member profitability and promote prosperity in the north central Connecticut area.

Message from the President

Our members provide a wide variety of products and services. Your support of our members is appreciated. They are the people most called on by the community to underwrite civic and social events that add value to living here.

I am personally proud to serve as President of an organization with a cadre of volunteers who are dedicated to the mission of the Chamber. The officers on our Executive Board, the entire Board of Directors, and the NCCCC office staff provide advocacy, services and business development to promote prosperity in the north central CT area. Acknowledgment should also be given to companies and agencies that allow volunteers the time needed to attend meetings and support social events.

You can rest assured that, under my watch, we will continue to provide our members with the means to promote their businesses through networking and sponsored events. We are scheduling more meaningful Breakfast Connections and Business after Hour events, which have been growing in popularity. Please see the calendar of events on our website for current listings and schedules.

Thanks to the efforts of our member's and staff, new Chamber members are added monthly. Because you see the value and spread the word about the NCCCC, we will continue to grow. I am impressed with the solidarity and support the members of this organization show to each other. It says we have more invested in our businesses than money. To the North Central Chamber of Commerce, I say that I am proud to be a part of you.

Thank you and "Welcome Aboard."

Fran Walenta, President
North Central Chamber of Commerce

Message from the Executive Director

The past year has proven to be another growth year for the North Central CT Chamber of Commerce. Our membership grew by 47 new members. Our immediate Past President, Rich Tkaz of Rich's Oil Service / Comfort Heating, provided strong leadership and awareness in helping the chamber continue to grow both in numbers and in stature. Many of our new members indicated they became members because of the opportunities provided by the Chamber to foster growth, sound business programs and the ability to meet new potential business clients.

The programs offered out to members included the Annual Home & Product Show, Annual Golf Tournament, Breakfast Connections, Business after Hours, the Women's Scholarship Tournament, and the Annual Meeting. The NCCCC now provides a total of $6,500 annually to scholarship recipients from each high school in our service area as well as Asnuntuck Community College. All of these programs provide our members the opportunity to network with other chamber members which is the backbone of any chamber. Our Annual Meeting served as the inauguration of our current President, Fran Walenta, of Allied Community Services. Our President now serves a two year term, and Fran has laid out a very aggressive plan to bring this chamber to the next level. With continued growth of membership in our own organization, we are embarking on an expanded presence in the ERCCA, East of the River Chambers of Commerce Association. The future of chambers in regionalization and ERCCA of which we are a Charter Member, is the organization that provides the opportunity to network with over 3.800 businesses in twenty different towns east of the river.

As the Executive Director, I am honored to be associated with such a fine group of Directors. Their commitment to the membership is exemplary and the current board is focused on providing the programs and vehicles to help generate growth in our chamber. We have planned a Board Retreat, the first in over 12 years, to identify the needs, desires, and expectations of our members and we hope to use the results of the retreat to foster additional growth. We will continue to work on refining the programs and tools which we currently have in place with one goal in mind. That is to foster success and growth for all of our members.

I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to the Officers, Board of Directors, and the entire membership for their support and energy.

Respectfully Yours,

Larry Tracey,
Executive Director
